SAVE THE DATE - 14/01/2020
The 14th January 2020 is set to be quite the momentous day in the IT calendar. For on this day, the following Microsoft products will go end of support:
- Windows 7
- Windows Server 2008
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Small Business Server 2011
- Exchange Server 2010
That means the end of updates and security patches.

WHY YOU NEED TO UPGRADE
To make yourself less vulnerable to attack. When Microsoft ends extended support, it stops adding new features and no longer provides security updates, bug fixes and patches.
Think back to one of the biggest security incidents of the last few years, Wannacry. This came about as a direct result of unpatched, end of life software.
It was incredibly successful due to the sheer number of outdated and unpatched systems still being used. It is therefore very likely that we could see similar types of attacks targeting the software going end of support in January 2020.
DON'T LEAVE IT TOO LATE
Start your planning now. January may seem like a long way off, but it will come around very quickly.
Don't just save the date, save your business from the hassles and issues not upgrading will undoubtedly bring.
